The ability to create SAMs with products is by creating a Storefront via the Source
Watch & ShopTM via the Storefront Block.
The Storefront Block:
Watch & Shop is the ability to insert products into a video allowing the consumer to directly interact with products and purchase if desired as seen here in this video:
The Watch & Shop Storefront Block supports Shopify and Magento.
A Watch & Shop Storefront is created by adding the Block to a SAM, and adding the credentials based on the e-commerce engine used. If a Watch & Shop Storefront has already been created, select it from the menu, or create a new Storefront by clicking "ADD NEW CONFIGURATION".
Once clicked, select which e-commerce engine the Watch & Shop Storefront will enable:
Enter the credentials for the selected store as described for each: Shopify and Magento.
Once credentials have been added, click ADD and it will now create a Storefront view in the Source App by adding the assigned Storefront ID to the end of this URL as highlighted:
https://storefront-shopify-stg.sourcesync.io/storefronts/12
When going to that link, the store categories are listed.
Navigate to the desired product and copy past the entire URL link for that product:
And paste it into an iFrame Block. The product will now become shoppable in the video via Source's Watch & Shop functionality.
As with all other Blocks in a SAM, and the SAM itself, the Source Pulse engine, tracks all user interactions with the blocks such as:
- SAM Preview is displayed
- SAM has been opened
- SAM has been closed
- Duration of SAM being open
- Action within a SAM such as clicking an action button or hyperlink
- UTM Parameters available in URL fields in Action and Image Blocks
And because the Storefront is an App, it is tracking:
- user selection
- what is in the cart
- number of items in the cart
- total amount spent
as part of the Pulse Analytics reporting. Combining these unique analytics with the standard video analytics that includes, device, operating system, percentage of video played, etc. a fuller picture of the customer journey can be understood.
